St. Peter's Blues
Copyright ©2001 by Dann McCreary
The older I get, the more I find myself identifying with St. Peter. He
was emotional, headstrong, and he often was in trouble.... yet the Lord loved
him and was patient with him.

Lyrics
Woke up this morning
When I heard the rooster crow,
Woke up this morning
Heard that doggone rooster crow,
When I thought about yesterday -
Lord, it made me feel so low!
When I remembered 'bout yest'day,
Well, it brought me so damn low
I'd told the Lord I'd stick with him,
That to Calvary I'd go,
But three times I denied Him,
Then I heard that rooster crow!
Depart from me, Lord,
I'm a sinful man!
I said, Just walk away from me, Lord!
I'm such a, such a sinful man!
Can't even stand my own self
I can't imagine that You can...
The Lord, He said, "Do you love me?"
I said, "You know I'm fond of You."
The Lord said, "Peter, do you love me?"
I said, "I'm really fond of You."
He said "Are you fond of me, Peter?"
I said "O Lord, You know it's true!"
Luke 5:8 Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!
Mat 16:23 Get behind me, Satan!
Mat 26:74 I do not know the man!
Mat 26:75 And he went out and wept bitterly.
John 21:15 Do you love me?
John21:17 Tend my sheep.
